MY YOUNG MONEY MASTERS ROUND TWO EXPERIENCE

Participating in Round 2 of the Young Money Masters Challenge 2024 has been a very exhilarating experience. We got a very interesting topic to make a pitch for – on raising awareness among college graduates about saving for their retirement, and the various methods to do so. Research for this was very fun, because the world of savings and investments is truly a very interesting one. We also learnt a lot, and all of this is sure to help us in our life as well. After researching (the grunt work, as we like to think of it) was done, me and my teammate were stuck in a dilemma – how do we present all our information in a way that was attractive to our target audience, something that young college graduates would actually listen to? That is when we had our eureka moment – obviously, a rap would do the trick! And then total chaos ensued.

We had decided to make a rap, but we had absolutely no clue on how to actually go about doing it. So, within a day, we quickly learnt to write bars and compose a beat, and finally we had lines and a beat on our hands. But now came the tricky part – actually executing our idea. The bloopers reel from this is as good as a Netflix comedy special. Imagine two kids with no prior experience trying to record a whole music video with nothing else but a phone in hand.

Actually recording the song was not that hard, but shooting the video…that was another thing entirely. But after a few hilarious mishaps, we were able to shoot it.The funniest part was that we shot it at our school, while almost everybody was watching. But whatever said and done, me and Ayushman had the time of our lives shooting this rap video for round 2 of this competition, and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it!

About me I am Gatik Chopra, a student of Grade X at Delhi Public School, Gurgaon. Quizzing is my passion, and reading is my muse. The world of finance has always been of great interest to me, and I hope YMM will be one of my many forays into the world of money.
